NSS volunteers from University and colleges affiliated to it will now get certificates with three grades--A, Band C.
Grade 'A' certificates will be awarded to volunteers who completing two years and 240 hours of service and will carry two marks.
Grade 'B' certificates will begiven to those recording 240 hours of service and participating in on seven-day camp and two blood donation drives, besides participating in on national activity, such as national integration camp and youth leadership programmes, among others. The B-grade certificates carry two-and-a-half marks.
Grade 'C' certificates will require volunteers to complete 360 hours of service and attend two seven-day NSS camps
For Grade C certificate, one is required to have a minimum of three years of experience as an NSS volunteer. A student with this grade is entitled to three marks.
